Trip to Monterey

We took a trip down to Monterey on Saturday, to take Rebecca to the Aquarium there. Although we didn't get any pictures there, we took a lot of the scenery around Monterey. We took the famous '17 Mile Drive'. And as you can see from the pictures, it's absolutely beautiful! It was freezing, but the water was as blue as could be. The wind was kicking up the waves and our windshield kept getting wet from the spray.

We're BACK!

Well we made it back from Texas! And to be honest, as much as we hated to leave, we're glad to be back in California. It was a very nice and relaxing trip for the most part. So relaxing in fact, that there was a time I was bored to tears. Joseph never gets bored, he can always find things to do.

We had a real surprise while in Houston on Saturday. We called Grandma Raley to see if we could stop by and visit with she and Grandpa for a while, and she told us of a surprise party for Aunt Peggy that her family was throwing for her, for her 60th birthday. And what a nice birthday party it was! I know she loved it. And for those of you who read this, Thank you so much for letting us come on such short notice! It was a real treat for us too! It was so nice to get too see everyone we didn't get to see at the Christmas Party.

And all the new babies! They are so cute! Little Damien looks just like his daddy and his grandpa! And you couldn't tell his mommy had a baby just a short 6 months ago-she looks great. And Isabella Grace is a doll! Jimmy is and should be proud! She is beautiful. (ALMOST makes me want another). And there will be another little one in June! How exciting!

A day at Chuck E Cheese!

Hello all!

On Tuesday Kris (a good friend of mine) and I took Rebecca to Chuck E Cheese to play. We also met another friend of mine (Daniela) and her cute little daughter (Kayleigh) up there. They had a very good time playing. Of course we had pizza while we were there and it was good! The kids didn't really play much with each other because they were so interested in everything else that was going on. It's a fun place for kids Rebecca's age and kids my own age. I think I played more games than Rebecca did. I usually do.

Anyway, we're getting ready for our trip to Texas this weekend. We'll be back on the 23rd.

Movie Night!

Hello!

Joseph and I had our first date last night since Rebecca was 4 months old. We actually left Rebecca with 2 baby sitters and we went to the movies and saw "Meet the Fockers". It is such a great movie. Funny from start to finish. I think much better than the first. It was a great time. I want to see it again. I will definitely buy this when it comes out on DVD.

Rebecca also had a very good time. She didn't miss us at all. I really don't think she even knew we were gone. We had friends of ours watch her-Paul and Kris. Paul works with Joe and Kris is his wife and my good friend. She is in Reno most of the time, but when she is in town, I try to see her as much as possible. She is very good with Rebecca and Rebecca adores her. I did pretty well too. I only called one time to check on her. I did tear up a bit when we were driving off though (shhhh, don't tell anyone). They said she was a very good girl and a lot of fun. They offered to babysit again, so that's a good sign. I will definitely take them up on it!

Other than that, not too much is going on. We did have a babyshower for one of the mom's in my playgroup on Thursday. That was fun. And this Monday we are having our monthly Moms Night Out. We're going to have dinner at TGI Friday's. I always look forward to that.

It has been raining like crazy here lately. It seems like it's been raining for months. I don't know when we took Rebecca to the park last. We're getting a bit stir crazy in this apartment. I think tomorrow, we're going to go to a car and motorcycle show. Joe really likes that. I do too, but when you've seen one, you've seen them all. But I'm not complaining, at least we're getting out of the house for a while. I just hope we can keep Rebecca's hands to herself.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone is doing well and sticking to their resolutions!

We had a pretty uneventful evening. We got some movies from Netflix (Collateral, The Bourne Supremacy & I. Robot), stayed up until we just couldn't stay awake any longer (11:00). We opened up a bottle of Non-alcoholic champagne, toasted a couple glasses and off to bed we went. I sat there thinking to myself, how weird it is that one area of the country was in a completely different year than we were in. Those little things just blow me away. I'm strange, I know.

Well I liked 2 of the movies we got. I liked The Bourne Supremacy (which I didn't realize was the 2nd movie-so I'm really lost and now have to rent the 1st one-The Bourne Identity-to figure out what's going on) and I liked I.Robot. I'm not much of a Sci-Fi lover, but this one was really good I thought. Now I did not like Collateral-Joe did. It seemed to take forever to get going, and in my opinion, it never did. I just couldn't get into it, and I tried watching it twice. That sometimes works for me. I hated Lord Of The Rings the first time I watched it and fell in love with it the 2nd time so much, that I had to go out and get the books to see what happened. I read them in 2 weeks. I was proud of myself. They were really long. And now I have all 3 movies on DVD. Well that's my 'Critic's' advice for the night.

Well Rebecca's nose is doing much better, it's almost healed. I don't think there will be a scar. She's been quite a little turkey this weekend. Not behaving very well. She seems to go through spurts of acting this way. I have a neighbor lady that we go visit several times a week that we just love to death and she adores Rebecca. She always says how Rebecca is just so good and is always bragging on her to others as if Rebecca were her own grandchild. Well we went over on Friday afternoon, but not for long because Rebecca was being a meany. She was throwing stuff and throwing herself onto the floor screaming. I was panicking, because Roz's apartment is just like an antique gallery-it's beautiful. I just knew she was going to break something. Roz and I both just couldn't believe that this normally sweet little angel was being such a little devil child. But today was better. Not quite back to normal, but almost.
