It's Joe from back in March of 1993-Our first date to be exact! I was still so into the 80's scene...and from the looks of it...he was too! Fun times. I've probably mentioned this before, but here I go again.

I flirted with this guy for two weeks. I was working as a cocktail waitress in a Seafood Restaurant in my home town (Gordon's Seafood) of Port Lavaca, Tx. I knew the first time I laid eyes on him I would spend the rest of my life with him. He didn't think the same-apparently-since it took 2 weeks of flirting and then ME asking HIM out. Well that weekend we headed down to Port Aransas, Tx to the beach. Spring Break had just ended so the beach was bare except for a few stragelers and us. Man did I get wasted...I don't remember the entire day...I only have pictures. It was fun though-I think.

Anyway, thought I share the story of how Joe and I met! And a picture from the past!

Xmas Pictures

Cool new feature on my new camera Joe/Santa got me...it takes black and whites and other cool stuff! Her friends Faith & Mika sent her this Apron to wear in her new Rock Star Kitchen! I'm actually a little jealous of her kitchen...it's got more toys than mine does.

Ho, Ho, H-OVER!!!

Yippeeeee! It's over. No more lines at stores, no more shopping. I love it. 356 days until the crap happens again! Rebecca had a good Christmas-So did Joe and I. She didn't get a whole lot like she did last year, but she got a few big things. Last year I focused on educational toys and books, etc. This year it was all about fun and what she loves. We got her a play kitchen, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse set, A dollhouse with accessories, A 'Mack' truck to go with all of her "Cars" stuff. She is an addict I tell you...secretly...I am too. Love that movie!!! And she got a lot of stocking stuffers like a DoodleBops CD, those little towels you get at the Disney store that are little then you put under water and they get to normal size...Yeah those. Some more 'Cars' cars, a personalized shirt, panties. You know the routine.
I got Joe a really good electric razor. His last one is the same brand but the cheaper one and it's still going strong. This time I moved up a couple of models...he's worth it. He also got a few Hawaiian shirts (since we're Hawaii bound on Saturday) and socks, undies........the basics.
I got a BIG lense for my Canon Rebel to take great pictures of the scenery in Hawaii and I got a Casio Exilim Zoom to put in my purse. I really wanted a small camera because my Rebel is too big to carry around and I miss out on tons of pictures. Now no excuse. However I am a little perturbed because it' a little too 'High Tech' for me and it's beginning to be a pain in the ass to use. I guess I just have to learn and be patient-which is a problem for me. I wanted a simple camera with at least 7 mega pixel that I could just point and shoot...but no... Hey I'm not complaining-I just need to figure it out. OH yeah...I also am going to Hawaii if there is anyone out there that I haven't told...I'M GOING TO HAWAII BABY!!! (Hence the scenic background on this page!)
Hope Santa was as good to you as he was to us. Let's just all remember the real reason for Christmas...

A trip from Heaven & Hell...Get ready this is a long one!

I'm baaaaccckkk! Yeah!!!

First off...Congrats to my fellow blogger Lisa Momma on the arrival of her baby boy! Yeah! I'm sooooo happy for you guys. I can't wait to read the details of everything!

Texas: Love it there. Want to move back there. Food is good there-gained 10 lbs there. CHEAP! Humidity sucks, but I can deal with it.

Heaven: Saw and spent time with all of Joe's side. Love them. Rebecca got to know her grandparents and great grandparents again. Went to Grandma Raley's Christmas party on Saturday night and got to see the whole family. Lots of new babies. It was a lot of fun to see them and for them to see Rebecca. It's a long tradition of theirs for the little kids to get up and sing holiday songs for everyone. And Rebecca got up and sang Jingle Bells and did really well at it too. She was upset to have to give the microphone back though. And it made Joe really proud to see the tradition carried on by his own child. I loved seeing it and getting to experience that part of his life that I didn't know.

Joe's sister and brother-in-law and nephew flew down from Colorado and we also got to spend time with them...that's always nice-to see Rebecca with her only cousin on this side of the family. The grandparents spoiled her...in fact she woke up this morning wanting to go back to her house to jump on the trampoline.

One downfall is Rebecca came down with a stomach virus on Tuesday night and she was 'sick' most of the time there. She was throwing up, not eating, tired, you know the drill. Finally on Sunday she was back to herself again!

HELL: (CAUTION...if you're sensitive to bad language DON'T READ ANY FARTHER-I NEED TO VENT!!!! I don't want to offend those of you I actually care about)!

Before this trip, I had 3 sisters. Now I have only 2 that I claim. OK...so if you read my blog you know that my entire trip to Texas was so that I could go down there and go see my sister get married (and as a bonus-get to see Joes family and my other siblings). She's had a rough last 10 years or so and I am so happy she finally found someone who can put up with her shit and actually stand her. Where do I start? I get in on Monday and go to her house because she lives close to the particular airport I flew into in Houston. I met her 'Fiance' and he's great. Not what I expected since she told me he looked like "Gallagher" (you know the comedian that smashes fruits and has a giant couch). Well it turns out he's actually an attractive man, hard working, has been at the same job for 27 years.

HOLD that thought for a minute (told you I'm rambling). Let me give you a history of my sister. *Former druggie, *been to prison for smuggling drugs across the Mexico Border. *Alcoholic. *Has a great 16 year old daughter who's father was killed in a boating accident on Fathers day about 11 years ago. Then my sister found another man she fell in love with and lived with for about 3 years (+/-). *He went to work one day and died from a heart attack sitting at his desk. That's pretty damn devastating and who wouldn't turn to alcohol after dealing with that?? Well she managed to clean herself up, get dry, get a great job she was at for about 5 years. Got promoted to manager. Bought her first house (as a single mother that's hard to do), bought her first NEW car and life was going good for her. Lived pay check to pay check, but managed to get by happily. Then 2 years ago yesterday, she met GUY. That's his name: Guy. Things have gone down the tube since (NOTE: I AM NOT BLAMING GUY!) This is all her. She starts drinking again, starts wasting her money and not paying her bills, gets fired from being drunk on the job among other things, has to file bankruptcy, gets foreclosed on her house, and to top it off, hasn't paid a car payment in over 7 months and now the bank is filing Theft charges on her, but she still refuses to give the car back and is keeping it in her garage and she thinks its funny. And thinks she won't get in trouble for doing it.

Now a little on my past which plays a key role in how everything went down. I grew up with 2 alcoholic parents who were very abusive to each other. I can't tell you how many fights I broke up between the two of them. And I can't tell you how many fights my siblings must of broke up between them. I had some great moments growning up as a child, but what I remember the most are the bad ones because there were a lot more of them. I could go on, but I won't. So with all of this, I don't like being around drunks-I have no patience with them especially when there stupid and violent. It gives me anxiety and floods me with emotions I can not explain. I don't have a problem with alcohol...I am a social drinker. I too have been drunk at times. Even recently....BUT, I have never let my daughter see me that way-and Joe doesn't drink at all anymore. She will NEVER see me drunk because of how I grew up. And let me make it clear...I am NOT passing judgment on those who do drink or have drinking problems. We all have our issues we have to deal with and we all deal with those issues differently. And I don't think how I deal with them is right and other peoples ways of dealing with them is wrong. We do the best we can.

OK...so I get in on Monday to her house and she's drunk. She's in a good mood and that was fine. It was such a pleasure meeting Guy and seeing my niece Jennifer again. And for them to see Rebecca since it had been 1 1/2 years. It was a good night. So the next morning, get up, get dressed and Janet (Joes step mom/Rebeccas grandmother) called and wanted to know what we were doing and when she could see us. Because I went down there specifically for my sister, I gave my sister the phone and let HER decide what my schedule was since it was all about her. The two of them talked and my sister told me what I was doing. I was to go to Janets house that day and the next day, come back to her place for a bit on Thursday before going to Port Lavaca to see my other sister and my brother. Then on Friday come back to her place and spend the day and night since I had to pick up Joe on Saturday at the airport close to her house. Then Saturday night, go to the Christmas party-go back to Joes dads house and spend the night there. Spend the morning and afternoon there, go back to her house on Sunday evening for dinner and spend the night. Get up, go see her get married, have a good lunch then we head off to the airport. It was a great plan and it was HER plan. So that's what I did. EXCEPT...she did talk me out of going to Port Lavaca on Thursday since Rebecca was sick with the stomach virus and I didn't need to spread it. She was right. Rebecca didn't need to be traveling. So I was going to go on Friday instead. So Friday, she and I got up early, went and had BBQ at Joe's uncles restaurant and then I was going to drop her off and go to PL. Well then she got really sick and I was worried about her and again, Rebecca was not feeling well. So I just called it off and didn't go down there. The day was good and went really well. THEN DOOMS DAY: Saturday morning I woke up. Made coffee, she was in the shower. A little bit later she came out DRUNK AS A SKUNK. Mind you it was only 8 am. She didn't go to bed that night, instead she stayed up all night drinking Canadian Mist-straight. And she was pissed for whatever reason. She woke up my niece of a dead sleep yelling at her things that didn't make sense. She was going to buy flowers for her so-called wedding. I was not going to let her drive so I said "Let me get Rebecca to eat something and I'll take you guys since I have the car seat and we'll do it together". So we went to Randall's which is a grocery store...that has fabulous flowers...to get some. She couldn't walk, got out of the car and almost fell down. My blood was starting to boil, but we continued on. (Also on the car ride there she was totally talking things that made no sense and was kind of combative too.) We go in and she starts bad mouthing the poor girl behind the counter and so the girl gets the manager. She starts bad mouthing him and so I said "We're leaving. Get in the car or you'll be calling a cab to get home." I said very calmly. So we get in the car and say nothing on the ride home. We get in the driveway. I get out, close my door and open the back door to get Rebecca. Before I opened the back door, my sister told my niece "This is all your fault". (Classic drunk...blaming everything on every one else.). Mind you my niece has done nothing but wake up that morning...even that was wrong. Remember my sister woke her up yelling at her. Well my niece kind of whispered that to me that she said that. At this point I had to say something. I told my niece to put Rebecca back in the car and stay with her. I knew that what I was going to say to my sister was going to set her off and that I would be leaving her house because there was NO way in HELL I was going to let Rebecca spend all day in that house with her drunk. So we get inside and I let into her. I said (yelling quite a bit), "That this was no ones fault but her own. She did this on her own and I wasn't going to stick around. She needed to take a nap and sober up before she went anywhere else!" This completely set her off! She started saying that I have done nothing but be with Joe's side of the family since I got there. I haven't spent anytime with her. (Mind you: she told me my schedule). That I thought I was better than everyone else. That I thought my shit didn't stink. That all my brother and sisters and nieces and nephews all hated me. She said that I thought I was Holier than thou and that I sat up on a pedestal...blah, blah, blah. The only other thing I said to her was "You better be glad I'm holier than thou Bitch, because if I wasn't', you'd be on the floor right now, because I would kick your fucking ass!" (and that's true, before I had Rebecca and learned some patience I would have too. I've done it before). And at that point I got all of my stuff, hid her car keys, poured out her liquor and left. I was absolutely devastated. Joe was flying in in a few hours, I hadn't had a shower yet, couldn't go to Joe's dads house because I could'nt get there, get a shower and get back in time to get Joe. I pulled over into Jack in the box and just lost it. Cried like a baby at what just happened. Mainly because I wanted a shower and had no where to go to get one. Then I remembered my Niece just moved there and was close. So I called her, and was on my way out there when Jennifer called me. My sister blamed everything on her and told her to get out and never come back. (She's 16). So I turned around and picked her up and decided I would just get a hotel to take a shower. I did. Went and got Joe and headed to the Christmas party a little later. Just as we were arriving to the party my sister called Jennifer and told her to get home right then or she was coming up to the party to get her. That absolutely flipped my lid because Jennifer called a few times that day to see if she could come home and the answer was no. But she knew what time the party was and it would inconvenience me, she wanted her home then. SO, I called GUY and very politely said " I will be happy to bring her home after the party, but where here already and I can't do it now". In the back ground my sister is still saying to bring her now or she was coming. I said again very calmly "Guy, I'm telling you this right now, if she comes up here and embarrasses me, I will kick her ass then call the cops and throw her ass in jail. Because she has a warrent out for her arrest since she pretty much stolen that car in her garage." He said "Julie I don't' want to get in the middle of it." I said "You don't have to, all I'm saying is what's going to happen if she comes here. I will bring Jennifer home after the party." Needless to say, she didn't come and I did take Jennifer home after the party. She keeps saying that I started all of this and I need to apologize to her. NOT ON HER LIFE! I will never speak to her again, and I didn't go to her stupid wedding either.

I know I've left out a lot of little things, but this is something that has been going on for years that has finally come to a boil. I don't need her shit in my life. As much as it kills me to think I will never see her again, it's for the best. My niece is what matters more to me anyway. She's old enough now that she can make her own decisions.

So that's that. I've wrote a Novel today. Thanks for listening. I really needed to vent!

Not to much going on...

What can I say...Rebecca came down sick Saturday. Went to the Dr. Monday. She's getting better. Getting my head ready to go to Texas on Monday for a Wedding I'm not even sure is going to happen...Ugh. My procrastinating sister is waiting until the last minute to get a JP...I mean come on....even though you're having it at the courthouse-you still have to have an appointment! Looking forward to Joe's grandma's Christmas party on the 16th. We haven't been in 2 years. They're in their 80's and still rockin'! Can't wait to see all of them! Lots of new babies to meet on that side of the family! Well that's the boring scoop around these parts! I'll update again either from Texas or when I get back. Cheers!

This is a beautiful historical church just a block down from Gwen and Roberts house. Isn't this beautiful? They get to see these mountains every morning when they look out their window!

Back from Montana!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! We did! Just rolled back into town about an hour ago after 2 days of driving. We had a wonderful time with Joe's Mom and Step Dad (Gwen & Robert). It was nice seeing them again. The best part of the trip (other than seeing them) was playing board games! That seems to be the only time we play is when we're with them and boy it's fun. Scrabble, Pictionary, Sorry and Gin Rummy. We tried Totally 80's Trivial Pursuit...way too hard though!

We ended up leaving a day earlier than planned. Mainly because Joe wanted to get back and have a days rest before heading back to work. Good thing too because Friday morning it started snowing like crazy! Gwen called and said they got 5 inches of snow yesterday. It was also a good thing Joe went into Missoula on Wednesday and got new tires just in case-we needed them anyway, but the possibility of bad weather made the idea even better! So the drive was great although coming back we hit traffic just past Las Vegas and we seemed to be in it all the way home. But we made it in one piece.

Muffin (our Cat) was way happy to see us too. A nice lady from Pampered Pet Care came in and took care of her. What a great service. She even watered my plants and brought in my mail...for $15 a day. The kennels were wanting $40 a day! Big difference in price!

Well we have pictures and I'll post them when I get our stuff together and catch our breaths!

Another Great Read...

What a great book! But this one was a lot harder to read for me. This one took 2 weeks. Yes I was busy, but found myself bored at times. I found out that you have to read 'The Notebook' first because this one is like part 2 of that one. After I was told that it made more sense and became easier to understand and to stay interested in. This book has you thinking one thing all the way through it until the last part of the last chapter when everything changes. What a romantic book. Loved it!

My next book is 'Dear John'. It is Nicholas Sparks' newest book that just came out this month! I'll be reading this one on our way up to Montana! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

My new page!!!

Do you love it? I love it! I was tired of how mine looked and very jealous of some of my fellow bloggers. So I copied them and got my own! I really wanted a page that represented us as a family, but I had a really hard time finding a look that portrayed us correctly. So I decided to just go with this one. This truly is Rebecca. She absolutely loves looking out the window at the Moon (or Moona as she would say it) and stars. The only difference is she would have her arm around her cat Muffin and not a dog. Close enough! I love it!

Thank you Ro for designing my page and putting up with me and my last minute changes! You did a great job!

Busy Week in San Jose

Hi all! Just got back from being up in San Jose. Roz had her surgery on Wednesday and as of now all is good...BUT we are still waiting on the pathology results to come in on the 20th. Lets all pray that they come out negative for cancer. The Urologist did say he didn't think they were so that is a positive thing. She had the implant from her mysectomy taken out of her left breast. It burst last January when she was so sick from coughing so much. It was replaced and she seems to be healing fine. She did really well and I am very proud of her. I had a great visit while I was up there. I managed to make it to a play date with my former play group 'The MonkeyMoms'. I got to see everyone except Caroline, so that was great. I also managed to persuade them into a Moms Night Out last night so I got to see a few of them again. We're going to plan a weekend up in Napa in late March. I hope that works out and we all get to go for a weekend without the kiddos. I predict a lot of drinking (Wine).

This weekend we're headed up to Montana to see my Inlaws. I'm so excited to see them...so is Joe and Rebecca. I love spending time with them. They are really relaxed and I love that. I love it up there. The fresh air and the big trees and the snow. Love it! So I'll be getting ready for that this week (getting the oil changed, doing laundry, finding a cat sitter, etc). Then we'll get back from that then off to Texas and Hawaii in December. Busy, Busy, Busy.

Well just wanted to touch base and let everyone know how Roz was doing.

Desma and Rebecca on their way out trick or treating! They were so excited!

Halloween was great! Rebecca obviously dressed up as her favorite character 'Minnie Mouse'. Her cousin (my neice) Katy and her family drove in from Texas that day and was able to go trick or treating with us too! Desma, who is only 2 1/2 months older than Rebecca, dressed up as a pumpkin! They had so much fun going from house to house together.

Disneyland & California Adventure

Where do I start?

Rebecca had her first dance class on Saturday morning. Joe took her and said she did real well. Wasn't very interested in the tap portion, but liked the ballet part. I guess in due time she'll like both.

Then off to Disneyland. We're all very excited. Got there, checked into the Hotel (Embassy Suites-which was very nice: loved it, wished I could live there. AND it was the same price as Days Inn or Super 8). Anyway, went to the parks. Rode the Mickey & Friends tram, paid for the overpriced tickets (thank god one was free) and headed in. First stop-gift shop for Minnie Mouse sunglasses and ears and suckers. Then off to find Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto! Went to Mickeys house-Rebecca was gitty with excitement. We stood in line and got to see Mickey. They were only allowing one picture (to move the line along), so this one didn't turn out quite well, but posting anyway since it's the only one we have. Then off to Minnies house. Again, Rebecca was excited. She was looking at everything and her expression was that she just couldn't believe she was in Minnies house. Too cute. Got a few pictures there: But no Minnie. So we headed of to get something to eat: (this is where my opinion on Disneyland hit a very sour note). Saturday afternoon. The park is extremely busy as if it were summer time and none of the food places were open. COULDN'T FIND A BOTTLE OF WATER ANYWHERE!! The only place open was a little ice cream stand, where the line was a million feet long because it was the only place open. And people were so thirsty, including my 3 year old, that we were all willing to buy ice cream to quench our thirst. Worked only for a bit. But in the process: We saw Minnie Mouse under a tree posing for pictures. So while I stood in line, Rebecca and Joe stood in that line to see Minnie. I got up there just in time to see her with her IDOL! Rebecca was shy, but gave Minnie a big hug and we got a great picture of her. Afterwards we stood off to the side so she could watch Minnie for a while and eat her ice cream. After that, we left Minnies area and we saw Goofy walking around. People were crowding him and we only caught a glimpse, but Rebecca was happy about that. That was it! Those were the only 3 characters we saw the entire time there: No Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Winnie, Tigger, Cinderella. We went to all there stations and they weren't there. Talk about disappointment and a huge waste of money. Rebecca was upset and crying. We stood in lines for rides and that pleased her momentarily until she fell asleep waiting in line for the Dumbo ride. Of course, we got all the way to the front of the line and she's out cold.

At that point since she was sleeping we decided to head over to California Adventure to ride the big California Screamin'. Joe and I took turns. That ride is AWESOME! We each rode it twice and finally figured out the fasttrack system. Actually we didn't figure it out, an 'Old Lady' from Kentucky sitting next to me on the bench told me about it. How funny is that? Then Rebecca woke and we rode a few more rides over there that she could ride and finally we went on the HUGE Ferris wheel. Ok...so I'm scared of heights, but figured if I got into one of the carts that were stationary: I'd be ok. NOT...got about 1/4 of the way up and had to sit in the floor of the thing and put my head between my legs and close my eyes. Rebecca started to cry thinking something was wrong with me...I told her I was tying my shoe and she was fine. Finally go around once and had to ask the people to let me off and not take me around again. They did reluctantly. Thank you Ferris Wheel Operators! I should've went with my gut and not got on there! Never again!

So 9 hours later...we finally leave this place. I have to say that I'll will probably not ever go back. I was so disappointed in Disneyland that it made me sick how much money we wasted. I thought California Adventure was better-the only thing there is there isn't a lot of rides for Rebecca. However she was only short by a 1/4 inch, so maybe next year she'll be able to ride everything over there except the big rollercoaster. I think just going to a regular amusement park like Knotts Berry Farm would be just as good if not better. To me, that's all Disney was, was a regular theme park with the characters: if you're lucky enough to see them. My biggest disappointment was the castle. All the pictures and the commercials make it out to be this huge thing...it's not. When I saw it I said "That's it?" I thought you'd be able to walk around this thing and it would be a real castle...it's not. OH YEAH...another thing...the food over at California Adventure is much better too. They actually had things open! They have a real winery there with grapes growing and all. A nice Restaurant. A Mexican restaurant and a couple more places. Even a McDonalds. So that alone made that park better than Disney.

The fire on the mountain behind us is out, however the evil thing still rages on with over 25,000 acres burned in less than 2 days and only 5% contained. The news is saying this is one of the fastest growing fires California has seen in at least 10 years if not longer. Hwy. 79 is still shut down and the fire jumped 79 and has reached the dump that is near by. That's only going to make things worse when it does reach it. Today the ash in air is far worse than it was yesterday. At some times today it looked as though it were snowing lightly with big ash flakes. But the sky seemed more clear today and even saw sun a few times. Must be the way the wind is blowing. Washed the car just to get the soot off-only for it to pile back on. I literally have 1/2" of ash on the edges of my driveway.

Rebecca keeps asking to go outside, but that's impossible. We were busy today though. I went and got my California drivers license...almost failed the darn thing. I swear the questions are trick questions. Went to Wal-Mart and got a comfy pair of Dr. Scholls tennis shoes to wear to Disneyland tomorrow. And she had her 2nd swimming lesson. So I kept her pretty busy. I also went by the Hemet High School here (this is the official evacuation facility) and put our name on the RedCross list incase they need anything or any help. I only saw a couple of familes staying there, so that's a good sign. I really want to help with this, since it's hitting so close to home. Rebecca has her first Dance class in the morning then we're scooting off to Disneyland. I'm really excited to see her face when she see's the 'real Minnie and Mickey'. It's going to be loads of fun. We'll stay the entire day and into the night so we got a hotel right there that will shuttle us to and from the park. That way we can go rest and then go back after dinner to see it at night with all the Halloween stuff they have going on. And we don't have to worry about driving back tired. We can enjoy it.

My Neice and her husband and kids are going to be coming in for a couple of days next week, from Texas. His family is in Long Beach and Riverside. It will be nice to see them and I hope they get here in time to have Desma (their 3 year old daughter) go trick-or-treating with Rebecca. It will be nice to see them.

Anywho...there's my update. I'll let you know if anything else changes!

Holy Crap!!!

Ok...so the Esperanza fire that started last night by some jerk wad...I really had no idea where it was at all day. I knew it was somewhere close because of all the smoke and ash everywhere. But then just a minute ago, Joe comes in and said did you see the fire outside. And there it is. Headed our way. I'm not worried yet. I am making a mental note of things I will take if needed and our important documents and stuff. How ignorant of me to think this couldn't happen to us! Well here's a picture, it's a bit blurry because I couldn't use the flash.

At Josh's birthday party on Sunday, Rachel had a clown come over. She was a great clown. She was so funny and really made sure all the kids were included but still made Josh feel like the Birthday boy. Anyway, she was a great face painter and here's our little kitty! The bigger girls at the party had a bit more detailed paintings and Rebecca was hesitant, but still it's cute anyway.

In other news: We've sign Rebecca up for Swimming lessons so that she'll be used the the water when we go to Hawaii. I'm sure we'll be spending plenty of time in the water there. AND, we also sign her up for a once a week dance class. She goes on Saturday morning and this Saturday will be her first one. I had to get her tap shoes and ballet shoes. She's been wearing the tap shoes around the house (minus the bows) and she thinks they're Minnie Mouse's shoes.

OK...so back to the bows, she loves to wear them in her hair or on her clothes but if they're on her shoes I have to tuck the laces in so she can't see them. Why? Because it annoys her it the bow doesn't stay exactly perfect. She throws a huge fit. Ugh! We'll see how it goes on Saturday when I have to put the laces back in the tap shoes and theres no where to tuck them in. Wish me luck.

Not really! We did venture out to a really nice pumpkin patch today. My first time to ever see pumpkins in all their glory. Can you believe that?! I never knew how pumpkins grew...I don't think it ever even crossed my mind. But anyway...It was a lot of fun. It's also a Christmas tree farm...again...never been to one. I'm so looking forward to going back in late November and cutting down my own tree! How fun will that be??? (Please pardon me....I'm extremely delirious from an exhausting week). Anyway, back to the pumpkin patch...another thing I've never seen....gigantic sunflowers-look at the pictures and you'll understand. WOW! Fun, Fun, Fun!!

Well tomorrow night is our monthly Bunco night. And it's a dress up Bunco night. I'm going as a female prisoner...mainly because the costume was cheap. Tried it on tonight and if I do say so myself...I look pretty darn good in it. I'll post pictures after tomorrow!

Quickie!

Internets been on and off for a week now...very frustrating. Nothing much going on. The next few months are going to be very busy. Going up to San Jose November 6th. My Dear Roz is having surgery and I'm going to go up and help her. Then we're going to Montana for Thanksgiving (driving up there and looking forward to that...quiet time in the car with my family and reading). Looking forward to seeing Joe's mom and step-dad. Then to Houston for my sisters wedding in December. Then off to Hawaii in late Dec/early Jan! Busy Busy.

Have some pictures to post, but until my internet is fixed, not going to bother trying to post them. It's a pain when it is working properly-much less when its not.

Rebecca is doing good...trying my patience-but what's new with that? (Mental note-start looking into preschools for her. We both really need it!)

Boring....

That's exactly it...it's boring here. Nothing going on...so nothing to say. Tonight I've been scrapbooking my butt off. Filled up my entire book. Picked up a bunch of stuff at Michaels today and I'm loving it. Taking some over to Rachels to re-plenish her stash that she's been sharing with me.

This weekend we had another car show to go to. The Temecula Fall Rod Run and Show. It was fun. Didn't win, but was fun none the less. It was relaxing. I read, chatted with the Petrins, read some more, ate, walked around and shopped. What could be better than that? There's another one in March for Spring. On Sunday we did nothing...I went grocery shopping that's about it.

Rebecca is doing good. She's a pain in my rear sometimes, but she's good other than that. Her new thing is playing games on the computer. She's good at it too. So now we argue over the computer and who's turn it is. She won't share her toys with her friends and now she won't share the computer with me. What's up with that? I'm being run over by a 3 year old. I need to stop giving into her...I know, so don't give me your 2 cents-I don't wanna hear it!

Finally got finished reading 'The Guardian' last night. That one took me a while to finish compared to the others where I'm finishing them in a day. I had a hard time getting into this one for some reason. It was different than is other few books I've read. And in the end, he says this was different that his other work. This one was more of a murder/mystery/love story. I'm still confused on the ending. Might have to go back and re-read the last chapter. There's a couple more of his books I still need to read and couple of them I won't bother since I've seen the movies. Since I know how the story goes and ends, it won't keep my attention-even if the book is better than the movie. Still won't keep me interested. Any ideas or suggestions on who I should start reading after I'm done reading all the Nicholas Sparks books? I'd love your opinions.

Yet Another Great Nicholas Sparks Book!

I am beginning to become a big fan of reading. Who would've thought? I've never liked reading before and now I've found this great Author-thanks Rachel for giving me the last book to read. Because of you I've found a new love in my life...Nicholas Sparks. I'm going to start on 'The Gaurdian' next.

Our first Car Show and New Car!

Here's a picture of Joe's 68 Camaro. We took it to our first car show yesterday and Joe drove it for the very first time. It did well. A small problem with the radiator hose, but other than that it did great.

So we decided to go ahead and get rid of Joe's truck and keep my Tahoe and get this for me to drive. I LOVE IT!!!!!! My first 'luxury car'. You can't tell from the pictures but it's a BMW. 2006. My most favorite feature on the car is the Blue Tooth radio/phone system. It will memorize my phone book on my cell phone and when someone calls it shows up as Caller ID on the radio and I just push a button on the steering wheel to answer it. All I have to do is talk. My one problem...my cell phone doesn't have Blue Tooth. So I'm going to get one today. My second favorite feature is the push button start. Instead of having keys, you just push a button. It's so cool! I've never had leather interior either and really never liked it, but this interior is very soft, almost cloth like. No sticking to it! I also love having a sun roof. All I can say is it's really nice and I love it. I'm looking to getting 29 mpg for gas. And looking forward to not spending $70 to fill it up! Yeah!!!!

Another GREAT book...

Another great book...Thank you Rachel for letting me borrow it! Started it yesterday...haven't put it down at all today. I don't know what's gotten into me. I never, ever read books...and I'm finishing them in 2 days or less...

About a lady who quit her job as a teacher to move out of a big city to a small town her family was from. She has a son with a learning disability and she devotes her time trying to help him since the Dr's can't seem to. She gets into a car wreck on a stormy night...her son no where to be found. The rescuers search...almost giving up. She eventually falls in love only to be hurt by the man she loves because he can't get over some demons in his life from when he was a kid. Loses his best friend and learns about himself...things he's never known to be true but people have tried to tell him...

OMG...I cried like a baby in the last 4 chapters of this book. But all ends well...or does it? You have to read to find out!

What to read next? Have I found a new hobby??? We shall see!

Disney Live! Mickey's Magic Show...

Last night we took Rebecca to an incredible show...(Thanks Lori and Garrett for thinking of us when buying these tickets!). We met Lori, Garrett, Faith and Mika at the Copley symphony Hall in San Diego to see Mickey's Magic Show. We thought it was fantastic! The costumes were fabulous and magic show was great. I'm still mezmerized on how they do that? How do they make the ladies float in mid air? I know there's got to be cables or something, but they make it look so real. I guess if I knew the secrets it wouldn't be as fascinating to me huh? Oh I guess I must mention how much Rebecca loved it too! I mean it is suppose to be about her...right? But I'm still a kid at heart too!!! The whole evening was just fabulous and I can't thank the Okamoto's enough...Thank you!

And in other news...Joes is at a golf tournament. I'm hosting Bunco tonight at my house, so I have to get my ass in gear and start cleaning and cooking. The host has to supply dinner...we're having lasagne, salad (with no pre-packaged spinach with a side of Ecoli), garlic bread and plenty of fattening snacks. And then tomorrow Joe is going surfing in Santa Clemente with some buddies. Not sure if I'm going...not a beach girl...I hate sand. Which is why I won't take Rebecca to parks that have sand. Then Monday, I'm starting my new diet...the one I lost so much weight on last year (Michael Thurmond's Six Week Body Makeover). I'm giving it another go of it. I went and bought a recumbent bike this week and set it up in my bedroom. How romantic. I was going to join a gym when I confessed to myself that I'd probably never go and what a waste of money we don't have. So this was a good decision on my part. I don't have to get dressed to go anywhere. I can get up and do it in my pj's. We'll see. I got to get it in gear if I plan to wear any kind of swimsuit in Hawaii in January. I can do this, I did it once and I'll do it again.

And what else...I'm looking into trading in my Tahoe for the car of my dreams. Got a great deal, just looking for the right one, right color, you know how it is... We shall see. I'm tired of spending $70 to fill up my Tahoe. Don't get me wrong, I love it. It's a great suv, but the gas is killing me. Even though gas prices are coming down, we all know they won't stay that way-especially with 2 new tropical storms in the Atlantic as we speak. I would love to keep the Tahoe and buy my dream car, but hey when I win the lottery, that's a possibility. Poor Joe, his truck is paid off and he'll be driving that thing until the wheels fall off so that I can have a new car every 3 years. Hey, you just can't risk breaking down when you carry precious cargo in a car seat. That's just how it is.

OK, I'm blabbing just to put off the obvious house cleaning...gotta go.

Nice, Busy weekend...

Well let's see what did I/We do this weekend...

Joe got up early and played golf on Saturday to be back by 1:00 so I could go have my hair done. I got a really cute haircut when I was up in San Jose a couple of months ago and went in to touch it up and get some highlights...you know to cover the gray areas. Well she did a great job on it as usual. However, on my instruction, it's a bit shorter in the back than I really like. I thought I'd like it shorter since I've never had a short haircut...I don't like it so much. Oh well it'll grow out I guess.

Then on Sunday, got up early and did the whole grocery shopping thing by myself...which is a treat in itself. Spent way more money than necessary and came home with plenty of un-needed things, but it was fun none the less. Then we all took a nap (couple hours at least). Then we got up, drove to Murrieta and went and played putt putt golf at Muligans. Rebecca's first time and I have to say she did really well! I think we may have a female Tiger Woods on our hands. She played 5 of the 18 'holes' and made par on all of them basically. We were shocked! Joe's a golfer and she got him on a few shots. That's my girl. I did get pictures, just haven't downloaded them yet...I will when I feel like it.

So today I went and ran some errands and went to Target and picked up a few more things I really didn't need and in doing so I stumbled across a book that caught my eye... "What Do You Do All Day?" by Amy Scheibe. I've heard that question before being said to me, so I picked it up. No for someone (me) who really doesn't read books because I can never find one I really, really like and keeps me entertained...I've already read half of this book and I only started it at 3:00 this afternoon. I love it! I could have easily been the one who wrote it. It's about me and probably every other Stay At Home Mom out there. WOW! It's funny, sarcastic and sad...in a good way. Writtin by a mother of 2 who quit her career to raise her kids and the wonder in the back of her head...Did I make a Big Mistake? We as SAHM's know we didn't-because there's no bigger investment than our kids, but don't you wonder? Well takes you through all of those thoughts/feelings of working, discipline, how we give in to make things easier, poopy diapers, friends, jealousy and our love lives, but puts in a story that has cracked me up more than a few times today. So as a Non-Reader, I'm highly suggesting it to you-it's good!

Suri Cruise!! Finally!

So I think she is adorable! Look at all that hair-OMG! A great mixtures of both Tom and Katie. I don't know what all the fuss is about...what parents would want their babies pictures splashed all over the news and having people make remarks about her-good or bad. I think they did right by her. My opinion and she's cute!

UPDATE: So Jeff did not win (Whaaaaaaa), but he did come in 5th...which is really good. If he finishes in the top 10 in the next race he'll clinch a spot in the championship race. It was a great race though. He led a lot of laps and probably would've won had his front tire changer not screwed up his tire and made him come back into the pits a 2nd time! UGH...this is what you get paid for guy...do your job right (insert %&^%$@$! here)! It was so exciting. We were in row 11 so we were pretty close to the track but yet high enough up to see almost all the way around the track. We were right across from Jeffs pit stall so we had a good view of that too. When we first got there, we got to see TNT doing their pre-race show live. It was really super hot too. It was 106 and felt even hotter. But as the sun started setting it really cooled of and was really nice. They come back in February, so definitely getting tickets for that one!

WHOOO HOOOO! I love Nascar! Joe and I are headed to Fontana for the race tonight. I really hope Jeff Gordon wins. I've never been to a race were he's won! He's gotten close but never won. Maybe tonights the night...we shall see. Rebecca's headed over to her friends house (Josh) to spend the night. She's very excited about it too. This morning she came in and said she had turned off her TV and was ready to go. I've been telling her for a while now that she was going to sleep over there while mommy and daddy went to see Jeff Gordon. So she says this morning, " I'm going to sleep over at Josh's house and you are going to sleep with Jeff Gordon!". Too funny! (All I thought was...I wish-ha ha). I thought that was cute! As Roz said..."What comes out of the mouths of kids."

Anyway, wish Jeff luck!

Rebecca's first REAL question...

So Rebecca came running in yesterday asking this question...and I quote...

"Um, Mommy, why does the sun go down?" My answer was, "Well baby thats how we know it's time for us to get ready for bed." (Wishful thinking huh?). Well then she didn't like that answer I guess and she went to her dad...and I quote..."Um, Daddy, why does the sun go down?". His answer, (remember this is my smart husband who wants her to know the real reason the sun goes down), "Because the earth turns and as it turns sometimes we're on the sunny side and sometimes we're on the dark side". This is Rebecca's look on her face-??????????????. You can see it. Great intentions Dad, but maybe you should draw her a picture! So he whips out the paper and starts drawing the sun and the earth, and all Rebecca is interested in is making sure the circles have eyes, noses and mouths! I LOVE THIS AGE!!!!! It's going to be fun!

Rebecca's 3rd Birthday Party!

Rebecca's party was a big success! We had all of her friends here (Faith, Mika, Makenzie, Josh and Emily-and their parents). We BBQ'd burgers and hot dogs and had a good time chatting and kids had a great time playing.

Rebecca made out like a bandit on gifts (Thank you everyone). She got a swingset from us and a Sally remote control car from the movie 'Cars'. She got a Strawberry Shortcake Doll and cute dress from the Petrins. A play doe set and Mickey Mouse computer gadget from the Okomoto's. Carebear and movie from our neighbors and a kitchen set from her cousin Justin. All great gifts that have brought her much joy today! And I know there are still things coming from family in the mail. OH yeah, and last week she got a scooter from our friends from Conneticut and a kids play IPOD from Lynda and her kids from San Jose. She also got a strawberry shortcake doll last month from Daniela and her family while we were up visiting in San Jose! Thanks to you all too!

Rebecca's favorite part was the birthday cake and the singing. We did it again for her tonight! She just loves that part.

Getting ready to Party...

I can not believe my baby is turning 3 on Sunday! Time just flies by huh? She's getting really excited for her Strawberry Shortcake party. Yesterday she asked me if we could make a 'Practice cake'. Where did that come from? And how could I say no to that? So we did. She enjoyed it! I made a small calendar that we taped up on the wall and every night (a whole 2 nights in a row) we pull off a number before bed so she knows how many more days until her party and her birthday. It's really a lot of fun this year now that she understands what it is.

She's shocked me with a few things these last few days. Yesterday while riding in the car, she was telling me how pretty Minnie Mouse's dress is and then she asked me if I would buy her some dresses. You have no idea how happy that made me. I would love to see her in some pretty dresses. I love seeing how she is turning so 'girlie'. She used to dislike dresses altogether and she would play with her cars and trains long before she'd pick up a doll. Now she plays with her dolly's and pretend kitchen and those sorts of 'girlie' things. It's great to see that's all.

She really loves to dance and sing too. I actually have a tough decision to make...We took her to a Kindermusik class on Saturday. She was really shy, didn't participate and just wasn't into it. Then at the end of the class she liked it-for all of 5 minutes. She says she wants to go back. But then again, as much as she likes dancing and jumping and tumbling, I'm also thinking of putting her back into gymnastics or dance. I can't afford to do both-so I'm kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have a few more days where I can think about it before the deadline to sign her up for the music class. Any thoughts on that one?

So on Friday, Rachel and I are finally going to our AMERICAN IDOL concert in San Diego....YEAH!!! We're really excited about it. We both just love the show and we really loved this years singers, so we're going to have a lot of fun I think. I hope they let us take in cameras. If so I'll be posting some pictures of it. Also, next Sunday, I get to go to another Nascar race in Fontana. If you know me, you know I love Nascar. It's going to finish under the lights too and I've never been to one that has, so I'm really looking forward to that. Rebecca is going to spend the night over at Rachels house, so she'll be excited about that. She loves them. And Joe and I get a day and night to ourselves!

My new playgroup!

I'm so excited!! Today I hosted my first playdate since joining Hemet Moms Meetup...(thank you Lori for finding it for me). It was actually the 2nd group, but the first one where several others showed up. The ladies are very nice, as are their kids. The kids range in age from 7 weeks to 4 years, but it was still very nice. I'm used to a group where the kids are all much closer in age. But to be honest it didn't matter-they still all played well together! It was fantastic. Anyway, I just wanted to share my news!

August is already half way over? Wait I didn't get the memo! Where did it go? Anybody? OH #&^!@#!!!!!!!!! :-)

Ok seriously, what a busy month it's been so far. Started the month with Joe's surprise party, then had a friend and her kids come down and visit a few days from San Jose. Then had some friends come and visit for a day from Conneticut. THEN, I had to go pick up my nephew in San Diego to get him a rental car (which I ended up driving...more on that), because he had friends coming in from Texas-he only has a 2 seater. Then a funeral over in Hollywood area for my 2nd moms MIL. WHEW...are you tired? But wait...thats not all...

We have to finish the backyard this weekend because next weekend is Rebecca's birthday party...in our backyard!!!! I did start planting some flowers yesterday.

So back to why I'm driving the rental car. 1st-my nephew is only 19 so Enterprise would not let me add him as a driver so there fore he wouldn't be covered on the cars insurance. 2nd-It's a Dodge Charger, which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Get the picture? So it broke my heart that I had to drive this gorgeous Black hot rod. And he had to drive my poor Tahoe. Darn the luck. On top of that....ha ha ha....he's paying for it all! I LOVE IT! Sorry Justin. Oh Well. Yes and Joe doesn't know it yet, but I'm totally trading in my Tahoe for a Charger. I want a black one too! I've never had a black car-always get talked out of them-not this time. So DON'T chime in on the reasons why I shouldn't get a black car...I don't want to hear them. Thanks. Oh did I tell you it's fast? I was doing 65 in a 40 and I didn't even know it. Not until I saw that cop and slammed on the brakes. He didn't even notice-thank god.

So that's my month so far in a nutshell.

Well it's over...Roz's Mother-In-Law, Lena, passed away this morning. She went peacefully-thank goodness. Please keep Roz and her family in your thoughts and prayers today. -Thanks!

Great Week

My friend, Lynda, came down to visit from San Jose with her two precious kids-Jayden (3) and Eliana (1...almost). We had a very good visit. We didn't do much but it was a great time none the less. What we did manage to do with 3 kids in tow was go and have their birthday pictures done. Jayden and Rebecca are/will be 3 and Eliana is about to have her 1st. So we took a drive to Ontario and had their pictures taken. They are cute as you can see...especially the pirate one...great idea Lynda.

The kids played great together. I was amazed. Rebecca didn't want Jayden to leave and Jayden didn't want to leave. They're down in San Diego now and will be having a great week doing the Zoo and Sea World and other things too.

AND...I'm having more friends coming this week. Peggy, Jenn and Matthew (Rebecca's very first boyfriend) will be coming on Wednesday and staying thru Friday. They moved last year back to Conneticut from San Jose, so we haven't seen them in a year. I'm really excited too!

So another busy month for me. Rachel and I are going to the American Idol concert on the 25th, Rebecca's birthday party on the 26th and sometime between now and then we have to get the backyard finished and Joes got to get his hot rod ready for the Cherries Jubilee car show in Monterey next month. WHOA...that's a busy month!
