3 new teeth!

Just a quickie to say Rebecca's just got 3 of her 2 year molars in! I can't believe it! Last week they weren't there and today they are. Both on the bottom are in really good and the top left is just poking through. One more to go and we're all done with teething-at least until these fall out! This definitely explains a lot about how she's been acting lately. Thank goodness this was all it was. I was beginning to think I had a little terror on my hands!

Rebecca's 2nd Easter

Happy Easter!

We had a good one. As you can see from the pictures below, Rebecca woke up to her Easter basket and jumped right into the candy! It was cute. By the time I finally got it away from her, chocolate was EVERYWHERE! But she still ate all of her 'real' breakfast, so it was no big deal.

Later in the afternoon, we went over to a friends house here at the apartments. The kids had an Easter egg hunt and then we all had an early dinner. It was great to be with friends and the food was great.

12 Years Strong!

Well today Joseph and I have been 'together' for 12 years! WOW!!!

***12 years ago today I finally talked Joe into going out with me. (It took me 2 weeks-I still don't know what took him so long). It was spring break in Texas so we decided to go to the beach in Port Aransas, Texas, which is where everyone goes for spring break when they can't get to South Padre Island south of Brownsville, TX. We had a blast! Anyway, to make a long story short, we hit it off! I moved in with him a week later and we've been inseparable ever since! We dated for 5 years 3 months and then we finally got married on June 13th, 1998. This June will be our 7th wedding anniversary.

My baby is growing up

Well everyone warned me, they said "Enjoy them while they're little, because they grow up fast." And boy they were right. It seems just like yesterday she was born and she's already 1 1/2 years old. Where has the time gone?

I've been holding a new baby that a friend of mine had just a little over a month ago and that's got me wondering..."Do I want another one?" A big part of me does. I wonder though if I could handle those first 6 months of sleepless nights (those were the toughest) and still be a good mom to Rebecca. Could I possibly love another child as much as I love her? I don't see how. I truly feel like I would have a favorite (Rebecca) and how is that fair? This is but only a few of the millions of questions I have in my mind about another baby. I did ask her if I could keep her baby for a few days to see if any of these questions could be answered-Can you believe she said "NO"? Some friend huh? (Joking!) ;0) Well I guess I'll just have to keeping thinking about it for a while longer.

Well the pictures below are of Rebecca feeding herself. She's been able to do it for a while, I just couldn't let go. It's one of the last things I could still do that made me think she was still a baby. Plus, I was trying to keep the carpet as clean as possible for as long as possible. When she's done, she alway's puts her dishes in the sink (actually, she puts everything in the sink, including all of her toys-I guess it's better than the toilet). Makes her feel like a big girl. Now, how do I get her dad to start doing that? (Just kidding Joe!)

So Tired!

This is really cute. We all have had such busy days lately and those two just couldn't take it anymore! With Joe going to work everyday and doing his school work until late at night. And me keeping Rebecca out all during the day these last couple of weeks with hardly any naps has been rough on her. It's just been so beautiful, I didn't want to waste it and tomorrow it's coming to an end for at least a week or so. MORE RAIN! Then hopefully it'll be gone for the summer-maybe.

This was actually taken last week, but I only downloaded the pictures today. I just had to post it because she is so cute in it. She's very proud of this owie. Normally when she gets hurt, she comes to me to have me kiss it. But this time, she didn't wait for me to do it, she did it her self! It was the cutest thing ever!

Spring/Easter Pictures

Well we went to have Rebecca's Spring/Easter Pictures done today. And as usual they turned out great! But she was such a little stinker and was extremely difficult. In her defense, I was not myself-let me explain why. We were the second ones in line to have our photos done (which is rare. Usually you have to put your name on the list and come back hours later-that's how busy they are), so we went and walked around a bit and let Rebecca play with some toys, etc... Well as it was getting closer to our turn I thought I would bribe her by giving her some of these little Jelly Fruit snacks made by Sunkist that were up by the register. I give her some at home that are similar but are a little smaller in size and made by Gerber. Anyway, I just gave her one without thinking and before I knew it she was choking! Normally I don't panic because I know it'll come up, but this time it didn't and she couldn't breath. It seemed like eternity when I finally FREAKED OUT! I screamed at the top of my lungs "Oh my god! Somebody help me-hurry!" And this man rushed right up and out it came. Now I don't know if he got it out or if she did, but this was the scariest thing that so far has ever happened. I just can't stop thinking about it. Anyway, I think because of all of that, this is why she was acting up and didn't want to take the pictures. We ended up having to quit for a bit and let someone else go ahead of us. But all ended well and we got great pictures again. And I'm going to find a choking and CPR Class tomorrow. I can't believe this is what it's taken to get me to take one. I've been talking about it since she was born and only now am I actually going to go. Stupid me!

Happy Hollow-Again!

It's like we have nothing else to do but go to Happy Hollow. It's fun. I think moreso for us than for Rebecca. She's pretty much over the whole idea of it. But in her defense, we have gone 4 times since Superbowl Sunday. But yesterday was such a beautiful day, I didn't want to waste it, and we have been to the park so many times last week that I thought a change would be good. She did enjoy her daddy being there with us. He had a good time with her and I had a good time not having to chase after her by myself. She enjoyed feeding the animals-as she always does. Joe likes to feed them too. I'd prefer not to-there's something about those slobbery tongues touching me-YUCK! But that's what's great about being a kid-they could care less about those things and enjoy every minute of it.

The weather out here is going to be fabulous this week. A high of 78 by weeks end. I'm so excited. I never thought I would be looking forward to summer so badly. BRING IT ON! I'm not going to take it for granted this year. I'm so tired of the rain, I can't stand it anymore.

There's no word on Joe's job and when it may end here or when & where we'll be going next. He's still on the books to go down to Riverside County, but that's not going to actually start for a long while (His portion of it at least). There's a rumor they'll break ground in September, but that's the underground portion-not related to Joe's portion. So if it all works out and we do go there, it probably wouldn't be until the end of the year. So we're wondering if they'll keep him here to help out with all of the start-up and commisioning until then, or will they send him/us to another project until that one is ready for him? Who knows. If I had it my way, I'd like to just stay here until they need him there. Because the thought of going somewhere else for only 6 months or so is unsettling. We've have made some really good friends here and the thought of leaving them really bites. But that's the life of working in the construction business. I guess there's pro's and con's to everything. I'm not complaining-it's the life we chose and it's very good to us.

Fun at the park!

Yee Haw!

Well we got another break in the weather, so away to the park we went. In my last entry I spoke about how Rebecca hates to wait for the swing. Well the last couple of days she's been really, really good! If the swing is open, we'll swing for a while and then she's ready to get out and go do other things. Or if she has to wait, she's being much more patient and realizing that she'll get to swing eventually. I hope that's all it is anyway.

The last 2 days have just been beautiful! Yesterday it was actually warm. I broke a little sweat walking to the park. Today was much cooler with a cold front coming in tonight with more rain. It's suppose to be a pretty fast moving storm and out of here by morning. So maybe we can get to the park again. But I know we're on the last leg of this weather and 'Sunny California' will be sunny and warm before we know it!

Joseph has really been busy with his work, and now his online college courses he taking. He started on Monday with his first assignment. He's got several assignments due everyday. It's definitely going to take him a little bit of time to get back in to it. I'm very proud of him for taking this on and thinking about our future.
