Poor Thing!

My poor baby! Her little nose looks so bad! I think she must have scratched it in the middle of the night. She woke up this morning, as you can see from the picture, that it's nice and red. She won't let me clean it, but I've been putting neosporin on it, so hopefully it'll go away soon! Her daddy put that toy she was standing on in the closet, because he caught her standing on it again! You'd think she would learn after getting hurt so badly, but she didn't. She's as brave as ever!

Hello!

Well Rebecca has gotten her 2nd really bad 'hurt'. Her first was when she was about 7 months old and she took the skin off the bottom of 2 of her toes while she was playing in the laundry basket. This one, she was apparently standing on one or her riding toys and fell and hit her nose on her wooden chair. I'm not really sure because I was in the kitchen getting her something to drink and all I heard was screaming. But after surveying the damage, it was pretty obvious what had happened.

She has really been climbing on everything lately. I want to get her a jungle gym, but we just have no room in this apartment. The weather has been pretty cruddy lately, so the park has been out of the question. We did however, take her to Chuck E Cheese the other day, but that only lasts a little while. Once we're home, she starts climbing on everything again.

Anyway, thought I'd share another cute picture or two. One of the pictures was taken last night when the damage didn't seem as bad, but this morning it's scabbed over and looks even worse. It doesn't seem to bother her though. I'm very glad that her nose is dried up from her allergies, because she would just have a fit if I had to wipe that poor nose of hers.

Christmas 2004

Merry Christmas!

Rebecca had a great Christmas, as you can tell from the pictures. Her daddy got her a Barbie Tricycle and we both got her a Disney 'Princess' TV w/DVD. That's so we don't have to watch Barney all day long. She loves them both. She also got a boat load of other stuff from us and other friends and family. We're expecting more next week. She seemed to enjoy Christmas for the most part, so I know next year is going to be a lot more fun!

We really missed seeing our families this year, but it was also nice just being the 3 of us. I made a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixins'. It actually turned out really good. I'm quite proud of myself.

Joe and I don't usually buy presents for each other, but he surprised me this year. He got me a Bagette Diamond Tennis bracelet. I love it! What a surprise. I actually opened it yesterday. Once I saw the box hidden in the closet, I couldn't wait. I cried, mainly because it made me feel bad for not getting him something-but that didn't last long. ;-) Rebecca did get him some "Daddy and Me" books, so that they can read them together at night. As you can tell by the pictures, she really enjoys reading with her dad.

New Pictures

Hello!

Well we finally figured out how to take great pictures on our camera-return it for a new one. After all this time it turned out that there was actually something wrong with the camera, not us. I couldn't believe that they actually just gave us a new one. Even after I cut up the box and sent in for the rebate-amazing! And what a difference that made. Now I just point and shoot and a fantastic picture is made. No focusing, adjusting or fiddling with it.

Now I plan to start 'Scrapbooking'. Something I've been wanting to do since Rebecca was born. I think that will be fun. I'm going to try to take one of those free classes Michaels Craft store gives. How hard can it be?

Anyway, here are some of the cute pictures I took yesterday. We had our weekly playgroup at our house and as you can see, Rebecca is quite protective of her favorite toys. Actually she was just playing and I thought it was too cute not to capture. The dark headed boy in the back is Matthew, he lives here at our apartments and the little blonde boy is Jayden and he lives just down the street. Rebecca and Jayden are (quoting Forrest Gump) "like peas and carrots". I took Rebecca over to his house today to play, and I looked over at them and they were KISSING! I couldn't believe it-it was sooooo cute. I wished I'd had my camera. And yesterday, they just left the other kids in the living room and went off to Rebecca's room and played by their selves. Could've cared less about the others. They did eventually come back, but I thought it was cute.

Well now that we have a better camera, I'll probably update this thing more often.

Well here they are-finally! Sorry they're a bit blurry. The pictures themselves are great, but for some reason they blur when I post them to this site. But you get the idea.

She did really good, she always does. But for some strange reason she will not stand up and take a picture. That is why all of her pictures are of her sitting. I think she's scared because she is up on a raised platform and it may be too high for her.

Anyway, I'll get pictures out this week to our families!

Hello to all! Hope everyone is doing well. We're great.

Not too much has been going on since our last update. We went to a Christmas party last night that Joe's company hosted. It was a lot of fun-for Rebecca mostly. Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause were there. They had appetizers, drinks, dancing and presents for the kids. That was really nice and unexpected. Rebecca got a Little Tikes phone system that records your voice and then you can play it back. She really likes it. But as with all of her other toys, she plays with it for a while and then is bored to tears with it. I don't know what to do about that. We spend a lot on toys, and she goes and does that. She also was dancing up a storm with the other kids too. Can you believe I didn't get any pictures! What was I thinking. She wore herself out.

Today, we're being hermits. I'm cleaning and doing laundry. I usually do all this on the weekends, but today seemed like a good day to do it. It's pretty ugly out. Not raining, but foggy and overcast. Just a lazy day.

Rebecca's had a pretty tough day. While I was putting in the laundry, she slipped by me (I didn't realize it), and got on the bed-which is really nothing new, but we're trying to stop it. When I went to get her off, she was acting silly and fell off, right onto her head. I thought for just a split second that she may have broken her neck, because of how she landed, but thank god she jumped right up and starting crying very badly. I gave her some Tylenol for the headache she was sure to get if she didn't have one already. Then she layed down at noon and slept until 3:15. I was glad when she finally woke up. I was kind of starting to worry that maybe she did hurt herself. But, she seems fine now and acting her normal sweet self. I'm letting her watch Barney for a bit longer today, since I feel a little guilty for taking my eye off her and her getting hurt.

Hello again!

Not much going on here. We're still trying to recuperate from Thanksgiving. Usually it's Rebecca who takes time to recover, but this time it's me. I just can't get motivated. I still have a partial suitcase to unpack-ARGGGH!

Well, Rebecca and I went and got decorations for a tree yesterday. We just need the tree now. I think we'll get it on Saturday. We're going to decorate it all red. Red lights, balls and some red poinsettia flowers. I still need to get a topper and a skirt, but other than that, it should be very pretty. I can't wait to see Rebecca's reaction to it. I think I'll put it together when she's sleeping so she can wake up to a surprise. This will only be the 2nd tree Joseph and I have ever had. Of course we'll have one every year now.

Rebecca and I also went out today and bought gifts for some angels off the angel tree that Joes work put up. That is a lot of fun, knowing you're making a great Christmas for someone, who otherwise wouldn't have one. I'm looking forward to when Rebecca is older and can understand and appreciate what we're doing.

On a sadder note, I'm not so sure we're going to be able to get back to Texas for Christmas this year. We're definitely not going to be able to make Grandma and Grandpa Raley's Christmas party. We're really bummed about that-we look forward to that every year. Plane ticket prices are just so outrageous and to have to rent a car on top of that, just really makes it unaffordable. But we still have a couple of days to decide.

Well Rebecca has hit another milestone-A TODDLER BED! She can get in her crib by herself and was trying to get out the other day. I knew that once she put her mind to getting out-she'd do it. So we went and got her a new bed. She hasn't spent a night in it yet, but she's taking her first nap in it right now. She thinks it's more of a toy than a bed. She likes to run and jump in it and on it. So I'm trying to encourage her to crawl into it, sit on it and lay in it and not the other stuff. We're getting there, it's only been a couple of days.

Hi! Well we made it back from our Thanksgiving trip to Montana. It was nice to away, but of course it's nice to be back too! We all had a good time just visiting with Gwen & Robert and Elizabeth & Kevin. Boy-has Kevin gotten big! And smart as a whip too! We played Monopoly one evening-and he beat the adults! Keep in mind, he's only 5! It snowed a little bit while we were there. Rebecca enjoyed it. She and Kevin played ball out in it, along her dad and grandma. Other than that, we just ate, relaxed and napped.

We got back early Sunday morning, about 2 am. So we didn't do much at all yesterday but recuperate! We were so tired. I'm still tired this morning, but Rebecca seems to be rested. She is going at a 100 mph!

I think she and I will go out this afternoon and buy accessories for a Christmas tree and then when Joe gets home, we'll go get a tree. I've been debating between a real one or a artificial one. I decided on real, because I don't want to have to move one more thing than necessary when we leave here-whenever that is.
